Adas Yoshuron sponsors the Soup Kitchen at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church the first Sunday of each month. The next Soup Kitchen will be on Sunday, Nov. 3. We begin set-up at 12:15 p.m. and serve at 1:00 p.m. Clean-up is complete by 2:15 p.m. It’s a great way to spend a Sunday and help make another’s day fulfilling. The Strand Theatre in Rockland is hosting two screenings of the film “No Place On Earth,” about the discovery of the caves in which 38 Ukrainian Jews lived for 18 months, surviving the Holocaust, and the return of 4 of them to the site 67 years later. Holocaust Remembrance Day observed at Rockland Synagogue Adas Yoshuron Synagogue will commemorate Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, in the Spring of 2014 at the synagogue, 50 Willow Street, in Rockland. The service is open to the community, and all are invited to join in remembrance of the millions of people who suffered and perished in the Holocaust.
